

KITCHEN ASSISTANT
Part Time
The job of a Chef Assistant is an important role, and one that the Kitchen team would struggle without! You will be (after all!) the person that keeps the kitchen ticking for a smooth Restaurant service!
Within your role, you will gain valuable key skills on the job where you will get experience in some food preparation tasks during busy times and assist with keeping the Kitchen and working stations clean and clear from any hazards during service.
We’re looking for someone who is a team player, hard working, demonstrates a level of interest for the Hospitality industry and is willing to learn and develop new skills within their area of work.
M A I N D U T I E S (but are not limited to) :

To support the Chef during peak hours in a variety of important tasks, such as food prep, restaurant service and end of shift clean down

To work with the Head Chef & Kitchen team to ensure that Food Prep and Food Storage areas are kept clean and fully stocked, maintaining our food hygiene rating of 5*

To assist with regularly emptying general waste, food waste and recycling bins

To provide assistance in daily and weekly kitchen cleaning routines and in recording/monitoring fridge and freezer temperatures on a regular basis, identifying any areas of concern to the Head Chef immediately

To notify the Head Chef when stocks and supplies are low

To communicate and work closely with other team members across the business to achieve the same goal and improve efficiency

To have a high regard to attention to detail, reporting any flaws or risks identified in presentation of public areas, food and drinks being served
R E Q U I R E M E N T S :

Basic understanding of commercial Kitchen working standards (a full introduction will be provided)

The ability to be flexible and work well within a team during a shift, offering support to colleagues across areas of the business where required

To be able to use initiative, multi-task and juggle competing priorities throughout a shift, whilst remaining calm and professional at all times

To show willingness in your approach to learning and taking on new tasks
within the role -
To take pride in presentation and personal hygiene

Due to the nature of evening work required, it is preferable that the applicant is over the age of 16
(Basic training will be provided before tasks are undertaken, and there is the opportunity to take your Level 2 Food Hygiene & Food Safety Course - this will be provided by Cross Lane House)

Flexible, Zero Hour Contract (Morning, Daytime & Evening Shifts available; Tuesday - Saturday)
