HEAD CHEF
Full Time

45-50 Hours Per Week (with 2 days off)

We are currently looking for a Head Chef to join our popular and established small restaurant in Exmoor. The ideal candidate will be passionate about producing high quality dishes and using fresh and locally sourced ingredients, including from our small onsite kitchen garden.

Our restaurant seats on average 20 covers in low season (inside) with an additional outside seating area of 36 covers throughout the warmer months. Cross Lane House also plays host to a variety of small events and celebrations throughout the year, including weddings and private dinners.

Since taking ownership in November 2019, we have developed Cross Lane House into an Award Winning business and an establishment that strives to become the first choice of place to dine and stay in the local area. This is a wonderful opportunity for a chef who has experience of working in a variety of roles within a commercial kitchen and would like to take the next step in their career and run a kitchen of their own.

  • Hours: On average 45-50 hours per week, with 2 days off each week (hours will vary throughout the year to reflect the demand in season)

DESIREABLES 

  • 3+ Years experience of working within a commercial kitchen


REQUIREMENTS

  • Passionate about creating & serving delicious food

  • Positive attitude & good time management

  • Calm and works well under pressure

  • Works well in a team as well as alone

  • Great attention to detail

  • Capable of producing very high quality cuisine

  • Good understanding of health and hygiene compliance/ EHO requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES (will include but not limited to)

  • Work with us to develop menus and stay on top of food trends within the industry

  • Stock ordering and stock rotation

  • Manage food prep and service

  • Health and hygiene compliance​

  • Ensure we are meeting GP targets
